Hi, I'm Rina
My work, although on the surface may not look like it, is anthropological — I've studied how people, families, and societies evolve — and then designed interventions, media, and ventures that help make a dent in helping them evolve more consciously. My path to entrepreneurship is an attempt to answer questions around how we can live more connected lives - to ourselves, each other, and our environment.
My attempts have been through:
Health: how we take care of our mental and physical selves
- Founded SHE Health (acq, Backpack Healthcare in Aug 2023)
- Studied to become an Ayurvedic Practitioner at Kerala Ayurveda (2022-2025).
Education: how we learn, teach, & parent
- Alternative Education gatherings and conversations for parents exploring alternative education paths (happening quarterly in sf & elsewhere - dm me if you’d like to join)
- Worked at CORE / Capitol Impact (2024-2025) on a large scale high school redesign project for California's public high schools
- Built The Thinkers: social and emotional learning courses for teens 2019-2021 before pivoting to SHE Health
- Founded Aahana (now part of Project Potential), a health and education non-profit in India (2011-present)
Storytelling & Family Legacy: how we remember who we are and those who came before us
- Went to grad school at NYU Gallatin for Anthropology and Creative Writing (2018-2020) to research & write a manuscript about the past 1,000 years of my family's history
Relationships: how we love & partner (and more)
